Tunisia targets renewables to make quarter of power


(MENAFN) Tunisia has set a target to generate a quarter of its production of energy from renewable energy initiatives valued at USD835.56 million by 2020.

The news was announced by Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed following an approval of wind power projects by the government.

According to the prime minister, the wind power projects have been accepted for foreign investors.

Chahed further added that the country is seeking by 2020 for 1,000 megawatts to be generated for renewable energy.
