Tunisia inks USD171m pact on sanitation plan


(MENAFN) Tunisia inked a deal with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and European Bank Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) at a value of USD171 million for a sanitation program.

The sanitation program was announced to be launched in 33 municipalities in Tunisia, pushing for the establishment of 24 wastewater treatment plants.

Under the agreement, 30 pumping stations will also be set up along with the upgrade of a sanitation pipeline of 862 kilometers.

"This project will be beneficial for the 200,000 citizens in the regions concerned," stated Tunisia Minister of Investment, Development and International Cooperation Zied Laadhari.
