Maid in court for stealing employer's passport, gold in Dubai

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) An Ethiopian maid has been accused of stealing her employer's passport, gold, mobile phones and expensive watches, the Dubai Court of First Instance heard.

The 52-year-old Emirati woman was surprised to come back to her apartment with the door open. When she didn't find her 29-year-old domestic helper, she asked the neighbour's maid for her whereabouts but she said that she had not seen her.

The woman found her room messy with her belongings scattered. Looking around, she found her passport, two mobile phones, two Michael Kors watches, a handbag and 10 gold items have also gone missing.

She immediately reported the matter to the police. Authorities dispatched a patrol to search for the suspect. Police found the maid in possession of the stolen valuables. The maid was arrested after she admitted to robbing her employer.
