Yemeni gov't, Houthi rebels agree to exchange 16,000 prisoners

(MENAFN) Yemen's government and Houthi rebels will exchange around 16,000 prisoners after a month and 10 days days, emphasized a member of the Yemeni delegation of continuing peace talks in Sweden.

Hadi Haig, who heads the Yemeni government's prisoner exchange group, stated previously the exchange names of prisoners held by the two parties will be proved, including those who are missing.

He affirmed, "We hope it will be done on time".

He noted that he had held a meeting with Abdul Qader al-Murtada, who is accountable for prisoner documentations in Houthi prisons, in attendance of officials from the International Red Cross and the UN.
