Iranian court sentences 2 lawyers 5 years period in jail


(MENAFN) Iranian lawyers Arash Keykhosravi and Qasem Shole Saadi who had been detained on August 18 because of demonstrations in front of Iran Majlis (parliament) have been sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Talking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday, Abouzar Nasrollahi, the lawyer of Arash Keykhosravi stated he has been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for contributing to act against national security and to 1 year in jail for carrying out advertising campaign against the government.

He continued to say that Shole Saadi has also been sentenced for the same accusations.

The judgments can be protested against and should be ratified by an appeal court.
