DUBAI, 11th November, 2018 (WAM) -- Dubai EnSENble, UAE's first choir for people of determination, is set to perform at a concert in Dubai on November 23, with the support of the UAE Philharmonic Orchestra.

Some 25 determined youngsters will demonstrate their choral singing talents at the concert, to be held at the Red Theatre of Canadian University Dubai at 17:00, along with guest performers from the "Which School Advisor" musician of the Year competition, and choirs from schools around Dubai.

The choir will also perform songs with the Dubai College Chamber Choir and Victory Heights Primary School Choir. The UAE Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the choir, as well as perform its own music, including Mozart's Symphony No. 25.

The unique choir was founded in September 2017 by Rivaan Mager, Music Coordinator at CUD, and Dusan Popovic, Sports Coordinator at CUD. Both share a passion for working with people of determination and helping them face challenges through their shared love of music.

The choir has performed at various venues, including Global Village and the MENA Special Needs Olympics in Abu Dhabi, and has collaborated with leading schools in Dubai. The choir has also been invited to perform at the Special Olympics World Games, to be held in Abu Dhabi in 2019.

The Canadian University Dubai has been an integral part in the choir's success, providing support for its growth and development. The university has also dedicated a 'music studio' to enable the choir to conduct weekly rehearsals. This unique initiative also reflects the university's passion for inclusion through music.

Dubai EnSENble is assisted by many volunteers, including speech therapists and behavior therapists, all giving freely of their time to ensure the success of the choir.

"The choir welcomes new members, and there are speech therapists to assist in training. Through our passion for music, we want to show the UAE community that music unites everyone, irrespective of our personal challenges in life. The choir rehearses every Thursday at the Canadian University Dubai from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm," said Rivaan.
