Afghanistan- Election in Bamyan's Kahmard district unsatisfactory: Voters


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) BAMAYN CITY (Pajhwok): Hundreds of residents of Kahmard district of central Bamayan province protested against missing of candidates' names in the list and non-transparency of the ballot process in their district.

Around 400 people had staged a rally in the center of Kahmard district today and they complained from the election process in their area.

They said some people were deprived from Saturday's voting and they were not let to vote on the second day.

Taj Mohammad Hairat, a protestor, told Pajhwok Afghan News names of many people were missing from while names of others were misspelled during in the list of voters.

He warned if the government did not listen to their complaint they would launch massive protests.

Abdul Rahman Ahmadi, the governor's spokesman, said that providing information about elections was the responsibility of the IEC, based on his information the commission would not extend the voting process in any of Bamyan polling stations.
