Turkey to inaugurate driverless metro line

(MENAFN) Turkey was announced to be inaugurating its second part of a driverless metro line, with the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The opening ceremony was confirmed to be held for a segment which runs 20-kilometer of the Uskudar-Umraniye-Cekmekoy metro line, with sixteen stations.

The metro line is to be linking Yamanevler-Cekmekoy-Sancaktepe, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality stated.

It comes after carrying out driving trials in September, and an "international security certificate" granted to the project.
