Over 360 companies from 11 countries attended IPEC


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The three-day International Products Exhibition and Conference (IPEC) 2018 concluded at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre yesterday.
The event provided 'the ideal platform for presenting Qatar's attractive business environment to investors, highlighting strong growth rates in the national economy and efforts to enhance co-ordination and co-operation between all government agencies and institutions.
IPEC 2018 was attended by government delegations and more than 360 companies from Qatar and 11 other countries Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Tunisia, Oman, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Morocco, Jordan and Azerbaijan.
The exhibition highlighted the current global economic challenges and discussed the obstacles and opportunities facing the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, as well as the focus on managing sustainable economic growth, inter-country economic co-operation, growth and innovation in the travel sector around the world and financing partnerships to promote prosperity, as well as fostering innovation across the region through emerging, small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Pavilions at IPEC 2018 provided presentations on investment opportunities in the participating countries, the nature of projects, partnerships, trade and economic alliances, and the various incentives offered.
The event witnessed several panel discussions on sustainable economic growth in Qatar with business partners, Qatar's presence on the international scene through the role of Qatar Airways, new opportunities and companies in the tourism sector in Qatar, and initiatives and strategies to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
A panel discussion was also held during the event on the role of infrastructure in enhancing trade competitiveness, import and export, establishing Qatari and foreign companies in free zones, supporting small and medium enterprises to participate in State projects, strong indicators of the Qatari economy, prospects for the global economy, opportunities and challenges for Qatar, attracting and strengthening investments through public-private partnerships.
