11 Afghan players sold in UAE T10 League draft


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Eleven Afghanistan players were sold in the United Arab Emirates (UEA) T10 cricket league season two players draft by different teams in Dubai last night.

The Players€™ Draft was conducted at the V Hotel in Al Habtoor City till late evening on Monday for the second edition of the T10 League, to be held over November and December in the UAE.

Approved by the UAE cricket board last year, In August 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially sanctioned the league.

In total eight teams will play in the league organized by commercial firms from Pakistan, India and the UEA.

From Afghanistan side, Mujeeb Zadran and Mohammad Nabi were grabbed by the Bengal Tigers, Shahzad Mohammadi would play for the Rajputs, Gulbuddin Naib, Sharaf Din Ashraf and Shapur Zadran were picked by the Pakhtoon team.

Rashid Khan and Najeeb Zadran were snapped up by Maratha Arabians and Samiullah Shinwari by the Karachians.

Cricketer expert Zia Wadan expressed his pleasure over the auction of eleven Afghan cricket players in the UEA T10 cricket league and added the tournament would further improve Afghan players€™ abilities.

He said during the league the Afghan players will stay with international experienced coaches and benefit from their experience.
