New roads to open in Kuwait next week in $1.65 bln plan

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24, (KUNA): Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART) will open next Monday new service road and traffic entrances on both Mohammad Bin Qassem Street and Alexandria Street. Alexandria exit, located between Faculty of Literature and Kuwait Sport Club in Kaifan, will be opened along a (550 m) services road and two traffic lanes, parallel to Al-Jahra Road, said Director- General of PART Ahmed Al-Hassan.

In a statement for (KUNA), Al-Hassan added that Mohammad Bin Al- Qassem Street's entrance leading to the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) headquarters will be 100 meters of length with three traffic lanes in both directions. Al-Hassan referred to the cooperation between PART and General Directorate of Traffic, saying that the Authority has developed an integrated plan to execute 74 projects to develop roads and infrastructure to facilitate traffic, allocating KD 500 million ($1.65 billion) for these projects.
