COLUMBIA, MO - Greg DeLine, a business leader and philanthropist in Columbia, Missouri, was featured on . As the , he has joined forces with Love INC Mobilization Director Mike DeSantis to encourage listeners to sign up for one of Love INC's biggest fundraisers of the year, the Over the Edge event where participants rappel down the iconic nine-story Tiger Hotel in downtown Columbia.

"I had a blast speaking with Paul Pepper on KBIA about our upcoming Over the Edge event," says DeLine. "We encourage everybody to join in and to support Love INC on September 15. Meanwhile, you can also donate to the cause directly." DeLine and DeSantis even convinced Paul Pepper to participate. (This video link will be actually be embedded into the release.)

Love INC's goal with Over the Edge is to tap into the adventurous and giving spirit that Columbians are famous for. Time and again, community members have come together to try various activities in order to support a good cause. This is what Greg hopes to tap into again, enabling participants to take part in a rappelling event while fundraising for the nonprofit organization.

One of the rappelers will be Gary Pinkel, who will support other 'edgers in going Over the Edge, rappelling down the Tiger Hotel, which is the first skyscraper in Columbia. Edgers are encouraged to collect donations for their bravery, which will support Love INC itself. Greg has ensured that it is very easy to enlist as a participant. Furthermore, the money donated is fully tax deductible. Those who do not want to rappel themselves can sponsor a participant instead.

"We wanted to bring a different type of fundraising event to Columbia, adds DeLine. 'This activity will be thrilling for so many people who want to try their hand (and feet) at rappelling in a safe, fun environment that brings us together to help fight poverty in our community."

The event will take place at the Tiger Hotel, 23 South Eighth Street, Columbia. To participate, people should first sign up to become an edger and set up a personal fundraising page. Those who are able to fundraise $1,000 or more will be able to take part in the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel down the hotel. All money raised will be in support of Love INC of Columbia.

The nonprofit's mission is to bring people in the area out of poverty. "Consider that 24 percent of Columbians live in poverty, compared to 20 percent of Missourians. Income inequality is terrible, particularly in Boone County, where it is the third highest in the state, DeLine continues.

'Meanwhile, 41 percent of students in public schools receive free or reduced costs lunches. We are there to support people out of poverty, giving them better chances in life."

The work that Love INC has done has been made possible thanks to the generosity and adventurous spirit of Columbians. The nonprofit has significantly raised awareness in the community of how important it is to care for the less fortunate. They work with various local churches to ensure that those in need are able to access help in an effective and compassionate manner. They also engage the community in encouraging them to care for their vulnerable neighbors. Indeed, by bringing people together, Love INC has been able to develop a variety of strategies that aim to resolve the complex issues related to poverty, including providing life skills programs and trained coaches.
