Woman triggers explosion by throwing power bank in Delhi airport

In a bizarre incident, a 56-year-old woman was detained at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport after she threw a power bank in agitation and it exploded.
The incident resulted in commotion and panic at the airport, forcing the authorities to arrest her.
Reportedly, she later apologized to the airlines and airport authorities, and has been released on bail.

What led to the explosion

The woman in question, Malvika Tiwari, was reportedly waiting to board a flight to Dharamshala at Terminal I of the IGI airport, when she was called back by the airlines.
Airline staff then asked her to remove her power bank from her luggage, at which point she became agitated and threw the power bank against the wall causing it to explode.
The woman has been booked under two IPC sections
Detention
Understandably, the explosion triggered panic in the screening room of level 1.
The woman was then detained by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who rushed to the spot.
She has been booked under Section 285 of the Indian Penal Code for negligent conduct with respect to combustible matter, and under Section 336 for endangering the lives and personal safety of others.
