RSADF intercept missile from Yemen

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- Spokesman of the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said Wednesday the Royal Saudi Air Defense (RSADF) intercepted a missile fired by the Yemeni Houthi militia towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The falling of the wreckage of the missile killed a Yemeni resident and slightly wounded 11 others, Col. Staff Turki Al-Maliki said in a press release carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) tonight.
The RSADF spotted the firing of the missile at 20:34, local time, from the Yemeni Amran governorate, north Sanaa, towards Jazan province, southwest Saudi Arabia, the spokesman said.
The targeting of a residential area in Saudi Arabia by the Iranian-backed terrorist militia reaffirms once again the persistence in violating the provisions of the international humanitarian law, particularly articles 51 and 52, he pointed out.
This hostile act proves the involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthi terrorists and providing them with sophisticated weapons in order to destabilize the Kingdom and the region, which is a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231, Al-Maliki added.
