OIC condemns Paraguay's decision to open embassy in Jerusalem

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, May 21 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Monday Paraguay's decision to move its Israel embassy to Jerusalem.
It described the move as an "illegal decision", it violates international law and all related UN resolutions, the OIC said in a statement.
OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousif Al-0thaimeen said: "This action, although it's a fact, it will not be truly established and will not gain legitimacy, calling on the UN Security Council to take all responsibilities in this regard.
He referred to the recent extraordinary summit held in Istanbul which decided to take political, economic and other measures towards countries that intend to take such decisions.
The summit was held to discuss the tragic conditions in the occupied territories that have escalated with fierce clashes between Palestinian protestors and Israeli troops along the Gaza demarcation lines. (end) nh.nhq
