CIA helped Russia foil ISIS terrorist attack on St. Petersburg

A major ISIS attack on St. Petersburg's Kazan cathedral was averted thanks to information provided by the CIA to Russian intelligence agencies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke to his American counterpart Donald trump on the phone and thanked him for the information, according to the Kremlin.
The White House said the "terrorists" captured "could have killed large numbers of people."

It also comes amid allegations that Russia tried swaying the 2016 presidential elections in Trump's favor.
