(MENAFN- Trend News Agency ) Speaker of the People's Council of Syria Hadiya Abbas has resigned, the parliament's press service announced on Thursday, Sputnik reported.
Deputy Speaker of parliament has been appointed as an interim speaker.
According to a statement by the parliament's press service, the vote to elect new speaker has been postponed until Sunday.
