Oman Munition Production Company to start manufacturing by next year

Oman Munition Production Company plans to start production at its Samail plant by the beginning of 2017.

A press release stated that the company held a ceremony on Tuesday to inaugurate the plant's main electrical station. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Mohammed bin Nasser bin Mohammed al Rasbi secretary general in the Ministry of Defence and chairman of the board of Oman Munition Production Company apart from board members employees and representatives of companies in the project.

The station which was built over a period of nine months will feed the production line. Rasbi took a tour of the plant and met the project's manager technical staff and other employees. Oman Munition Production Company was established by the Royal Order of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to serve the armed forces by manufacturing light munition weapons.

The company has a contract with a French company for importing required tools and technologies. It plans to send 50 citizens for technical training to France and Pakistan.
