US-based Pfizer to acquire Allergan for USD160b


(MENAFN) Pfizer, the American multinational pharmaceutical corporation is set to merge with Allergan, the maker of Botox in a deal worth a whopping USD160 billion.

This massive combination will create the world's largest pharmaceutical group, and it's expected to be finalized in the second half of 2016, as suggested by reports.

The merged firm will be renamed Pfizer plc, and it'll have its international operational headquarters in New York and its principal executive offices in Ireland.

"Pfizer will have greater financial flexibility that will facilitate our continued discovery and development of new innovative medicines for patients," said Pfizer's CEO.
