Qatar- More than 500000 people in 39 countries benefit from QC meat


(MENAFN- The Peninsula)A senior citizen is receiving housing allowance distributed by Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) in Gaza yesterday. RAF started implementing its housing allowance project for 926 families in Palestine including 5560 people.

DOHA: More than 500000 people in 39 countries benefitted from the sacrificial meat distributed by Qatar Charity (QC) during Eid Al Adha. The project cost QR9m.

In Qatar QC distributed meat from 2500 animals to 12000 people including 668 low-income families sponsored by it.

A major portion of meat was distributed in Syria Iraq Yemen Myanmar and Central African countries.

In Syria over 60000 families benefited from the project that cost QR2m.

In Yemen the beneficiaries included 30000 families and in Iraq 2500 families.

The project cost QR2m in Gaza QR300000 in Central Africa and also benefited people in several Asian countries.

Distribution in Qatar was carried out through the automatic slaughter house of Widam on the third and fourth days of Eid.

Beneficiaries included orphaned and low-income families divorcees and debt-ridden people among others.

Last year QC distributed 2200 sheep to more than 11000 people in Qatar in addition to one million people in 54 countries in Asia Africa and Europe at a cost of QR13.2m.

Meanwhile Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) started implementing its housing allowance project for 926 families in Palestine including 5560 people Al Sharq reports.

The project costing QR4m is being implemented in collaboration with Turkish NGO IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation.

Earlier this month RAF launched a new relief campaign in Gaza by distributing food baskets to 21457 families benefiting 130000 people at a cost of QR3.5m.
