Major boost in Windows 10 use three days after debut, Microsoft says

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Microsoft has reported a major boost in the worldwide use of its latest version of Windows - just three days after its launch, according to UPI.

Windows 10, which was released Wednesday, experienced a jump in online use from 0.3 percent at its launch to 2.5 percent by the end of Saturday, Computerworld reported. In the United States, that figure was 3.7 percent through Saturday.

Those figures represent the number of customers using the upgraded operating system on the Internet - not the total number of computers with the system installed.

The increase easily trumps the release of its last free upgrade, Windows 8.1 in October 2013, Computerworld reported.

Microsoft said the updated system was on about 14 million devices worldwide within the first 24 hours of release.
