Trade Balance deficit drops about 10 percent


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Kingdom's trade balance deficit decreased by about 10 percent in the first quarter of this year, reaching JD1.2 billion, compared to JD2.3 billion in 2014.

The deficit decrease was driven by the reduction of exports percentage which hit 13.3 percent, in addition to imports' falling by 10 percent, General Statistics Department's data said.

Data showed that exports overall's value was JD1.3 billion in 2015 with a ten percent fall, compared to the same period in 2014, whereas exports hit JD1.09 billion in 2015 with 13 percent drop, compared to the same period of 2014.

It added that imports reached JD3.4 billion in the first quarter of this year, a fall of 10 percent, compared to the same period in 2014.
