Brazil's BRF opens USD160m factory in Abu Dhabi


(MENAFN) BRF, the Brazil-based poultry exporter, announced it has opened a new USD10 million factory in Abu Dhabi, which will allow the food company, the producer the Sadia brand of frozen foods, to expand in Middle Eastern markets, Gulf Business reported.

The facility, located on a 162,157 square meter land, will employ 1400 workers as well as having a production capacity of approximately 70.000 tons of food products a year including breaded items, pizzas, and burgers, making it BRF's largest outside South America and is expected to allow the Sadia brand to expand in global markets.

"Local production of processed food greatly increases our offering flexibility and adaptation of our products to regional demands and expansion of our Sadia product portfolio in the food service channel for the Middle East, providing the best food products to our customers," CEO of BRF International said.
