Asian stocks gains led by Hong Kong

Asian stocks advanced with raise in Hong Kong and Tokyo, pushing the regional benchmark index toward a six-year high.

Moreover, The MSCI Asia Pacific Index added 0.4% in Tokyo, rising to within 0.1% of a July 7 closing high of 147.65. Japan’s Topix index rose 0.8% while every stock in a gauge of Chinese shares in Hong Kong advanced, led by carmakers. Standard & Poor’s 500 Index futures were little changed after the gauge retreated 0.2% in the U.S.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index climbed 0.9% and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index jumped 1.4%, the most since June 26. Dongfeng Motor Group Co. climbed 3.1% for a first gain in four days and BYD Co., the electric-car maker in which Warren Buffett is an investor, surged 4% toward its highest close in three months.
