UAE's Habtoor wins USD299m contract in Qatar


(MENAFN) The Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has won a USD299 million contract to construct pipelines for two sections of Doha's Mega Reservoir Corridor Main 1 (Packages A & B) for KAHRAMAA, Qatar's General Electricity and Water Corporation, according to Arab News. Under the contract, HLG will be responsible for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 120 km of 1,600 mm diameter ductile iron pipes and fittings. The total value of the contracts awarded to HLG this year, including the new contract, was estimated at USD2 billion, close to doubling HLG's December 2013 work in hand to USD4.48 billion.
