Qatar- RasGas honours employees for long service


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) recognised 288 employees during its annual long-service award ceremony for their loyalty and contribution to the continued success and growth of the company. The employees celebrated five, 10, 15 and 20 years of service in the company respectively. Speaking at the Long Service Award ceremony, RasGas CEO Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi cited several key milestones in the company's history that have helped shape the company's current success. "Fifteen years ago, RasGas delivered its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo fromRasGas Train 1 to its first and largest customer, KOGAS of South Korea, the second largest importer of LNG in the world; a decade ago, the company delivered the country's first LNG to India, who is the sixth largest importer of LNG in the world today; in 2009, the company's first mega train, Train 6, came online followed by second mega train, Train 7 next year each with a capacity of 7.8Mta, which brought the overall production capacity of RasGas to 37 Mta," said Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi. "Together, Trains 6 and 7 have greatly extended RasGas' global reach bringing the total LNG production capacity of Qatar to 77Mta, the largest in the world," he said. Al Mohannadi said that today RasGas is one of the most successful energy suppliers in the world. Apart from the seven LNG trains it oversees and manages two sales gas production facilities, two helium production facilities and the construction of the Barzan Gas Project which will support Qatar's rising domestic gas demand, all in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Al Mohannadi thanked his employees for their continued commitment and loyalty to the company, recognising them as the company's most valuable asset and drivers of RasGas' success as a world class energy supplier striving for excellence. "At RasGas we know that our people are central to our success, and it is why people is a core strategic choice. I am confident that with your support, we will continue to achieve our goals and set new standards for the energy industry.
