Countdown Begins for World Handball Championship Qatar 2015


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) In the presence of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the organizing committee of the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship on Tuesday launched the countdown to the tournament at celebration held in the Corniche area. The ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Defense Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah, HE Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, International Handball Federation President Hassan Moustafa, Qatar Handball Association president and vice president of the organizing committee Ahmed Al Shaabi as well as the tournament's general manager Thani Al-Kuwari. Earlier today, the organization committee's president HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani had launched the tournament's mascot, named Fahad and featuring a child wearing a traditional Qatari dress. The event was held on the sidelines of the national Sports Day amid large crowd
