Canada's consumer confidence at its lowest


(MENAFN) Consumer confidence in Canada has decreased to its lowest in eight months on the back of the worst start of a year since 1972 of its currency, according to Iran Daily



Consumers grew more worried about their personal finances and the national economy



The central bank cut its inflation forecast in January and plans improving in business investment and exports is taking longer than expected



David Tulk, chief Canada macro strategist at Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD)"s TD Securities, said: "Beyond a hit to the national psyche, a weaker currency can certainly dent confidence by making imported goods and international travel more expensive.
