API reported last week almost 6.8 million barrels to have been posted in the US crude oil inventories for the week ending July 6.

It comes as oil prices reported a slight increase on Tuesday, following a decline of more than 4 percent during the past session.

The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for August delivery added two US cents to reach USD68.08 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for September delivery saw an USD0.32 rise to close at USD72.16 per barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
