Ukraine's GDP growing for nine consecutive quarters Poroshenko

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine's GDP has been growing for nine consecutive quarters after fourteen quarters of fall.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this at a meeting of the National Investment Council in Kyiv on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ukraine's GDP has been growing for the ninth quarter: 2.1%, 2.4%, 3.1% for the first quarter of 2018. The growth rate is gradually rising. But before that, we had fourteen quarters of fall, and it started not in May 2014, it started in late 2012 due to ridiculous economic policy," he said.

Poroshenko stressed that the most difficult years were 2014 and 2015, when Ukraine's GDP, including because of Russian aggression, "went negative" by almost 7% and 10% respectively.

At the same time, he recalled that last year's growth totaled 2.5%, while this year it is expected at 3%.
