EU ambassador to Moscow temporarily withdrawn

(MENAFN) The EU has withdrawn its ambassador to Moscow for a short-term due to the former double agent poisoning in Salisbury.

German diplomat Markus Ederer was declared to have been summoned up "for consultations".

It comes as European Council President Donald Tusk confirmed that the bloc's member states agreed with the UK in stressing there is "no other plausible explanation" than Russia's guilt.

"#EUCO agrees with UK government that highly likely Russia is responsible for #SalisburyAttack and that there is no other plausible explanation," the European Council President said in a Twitter post.
