Qatar Airways wins three more awards

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Airways won three accolades — Best Airline for International First Class, Best First-Class Seat Design and Best Airline in the Middle East — by the Global Traveler Tested Reader Survey Awards, for the second consecutive year.
Qatar Airways received the awards at a private gala event held in Los Angeles, US, on December 12.
The US-based Global Traveler Tested Reader Survey awards are voted on by frequent international travellers, with 93% travelling internationally on a regular basis, primarily in first and business class. The awards are 'an unbiased reflection as they are based solely on reader votes, the airline said in a statement.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker said, 'It is a great pleasure to be recognised by travellers for the second consecutive year for our luxury, state-of-the-art product and outstanding service. We take pride in providing passengers with the utmost travel experience, and constantly exceed their expectations each time they choose to travel with us.
'It is always our goal to continuously raise the bar on service and offerings on-board. We are excited to bring a new level of innovation and comfort to our dedicated passengers with the much-anticipated US arrival of our Qsuite business class experience to New York's JFK this month, creating a First Class experience in Business Class.
The latest Global Traveler awards were presented ahead of the launch of Qatar Airways' Qsuite Business Class seat on flights from Hamad International Airport to John F Kennedy International Airport, commencing tomorrow.
Qsuite features the 'industry's first ever double bed available in Business Class, with privacy panels that stow away — allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room.
Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the centre four seats allow colleagues, friends or families travelling together to transform their space into a private suite, permitting them to work, dine and socialise together.
The US debut of the new seat, Qsuite, follows similar launches in Paris and London earlier this year.
The Doha-based carrier has received a number of other accolades this year, including Airline of the Year by the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards, held at the Paris Air Show.
Qatar Airways serves a network of more than 150 destinations.
