US Moscow embassy to be safeguarded by firm of a KGB spy

(MENAFN) A private firm founded by an expert spy of the Soviet-age has been hired by the US State Department for the purpose of offering protection for its Moscow embassy and diplomatic operations in Russia.

The decision has come through following the matter earlier this year when the United States was demanded by Moscow to divide its personnel in Russia. Recently, a contract was signed by the US with Elite Security Holdings, set up by former KGB General Viktor Budanov.

The contract with Elite Security Holdings is worth at least $2.8m, as demonstrated by a notice posted on the US State Department website. According to a document released online, guards at the Moscow embassy along with few other US missions were included with the expulsion order of employees, explaining "the only option available, to ensure security services continue, is via a commercial contract."
