(MENAFN) A storm has hit Japan on Sunday at 18:00 GMT. South west of Tokyo, Shizuoka has witnessed Typhoon Lan blasting the country with its 198km/h speed which led to the death of two people and injury of ten.

As Japan's regions were all soaked by the weekend, when the national elections were due, around 500 flights were called off on Sunday, and 300 on Monday. Moreover, it is said that blackouts caused trains to get stuck, and on Monday few ferry & express services were cancelled.
