WEF: travel costs reduction to reform urban mobility

(MENAFN) Unmanned electric vehicles are expected to turn urban mobility upside down through shrinking travel expenses to 40% as well as reducing CO2 marginal emissions to zero.

The expectation has come from a World Economic Forum (WEF) report titled "Electric Vehicles for Smarter Cities: The Future of Energy and Mobility".

Innovative processes to electric mobility were explained in the report to be needed for autonomous and shared mobility, digitalization and decentralization of energy systems.

Energy and Basic Industries' chief and WEF executive committee member Roberto Bocca explained "the convergence of mobility and energy strategies can magnify the economic and social benefits of electric mobility in cities, and ensure increased sustainability, reliability and customer choice."
