According to a statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate, Erdogan disclosed that Türkiye, acting in coordination with other concerned nations, had invested "intensive efforts" in the diplomatic groundwork that ultimately produced the ceasefire agreement.

With formal negotiations on the horizon, the Turkish president called on both Tehran and Washington to extract maximum value from upcoming talks, stressing that the window of opportunity must be fully utilized to secure lasting regional stability. He pointedly cautioned against complacency, underscoring the importance of "not giving opportunity to those who want to sabotage" the peace process — and signaled that Ankara stands ready to provide "all possible support in the new phase."

Erdogan also conveyed his personal condolences and grief over the human losses endured by the Iranian people, reaffirming the brotherly ties between the two nations. He framed Türkiye's broader regional ambition as the cultivation of "a new climate of common sense and dialogue" across the Middle East.

The ceasefire between Iran and the United States, announced Tuesday, was brokered to lay the groundwork for a comprehensive agreement to end a war that has claimed thousands of lives and left thousands more wounded since fighting erupted on February 28. The first formal round of negotiations is expected to convene in Islamabad on Saturday.
