Armed Attack Leaves Six Dead in Mexico

(MENAFN) A deadly shooting rampage at a central Mexican nightclub left at least six people dead and five wounded in the early hours of Saturday, according to local reports from Tula, Hidalgo state.

Armed assailants burst into "La Resaka" nightclub and unleashed indiscriminate gunfire on patrons, a broadcaster reported. Four victims died instantly at the scene, while two additional casualties were pronounced dead after emergency transport to a local medical facility.

Conflicting accounts suggest the death toll may climb higher. AFP indicated three wounded individuals died from gunshot injuries during treatment, potentially raising the fatality count.

Emergency responders from the Mexican Red Cross and the national civil protection agency evacuated the injured to area hospitals. Multiple victims remain in critical condition, medical sources said.

Authorities have made no arrests in connection with the attack. Victim identities have not been released pending family notification.

Municipal police forces and National Guard officers established a security perimeter around the crime scene as they conduct an active manhunt for the gunmen.
