NEW DELHI - Weber Shandwick India has snagged Arpit Garg as its new president and head of Weber Advisory, Weber Shandwick India, and Shane Jacob as its new managing director, technology and head of operations, the agency confirmed exclusively to PRovoke Media.
Garg has spent over 20 years in communications and is currently the senior vice president at Adfactors PR. He joined the team in 2019 as its vice president. In his role, he advises leading companies across telecom, media and entertainment, infrastructure, technology, e-commerce, and high-growth sectors. His work spans reputation strategy, crisis response, stakeholder engagement, and executive visibility, according to LinkedIn.
Prior to his stint there, Garg was with Genesis BCW was its SVP, senior director of corporate and financial practice. He has also held roles in Siemens and Vaishnavi Corporate Communications.
Jacob, on the other hand, has spent the last two decades helping technology brands find their voice and build their reputation. He is currently the technology sector lead for India and the head of Bangalore at Edelman India. His primary role is centered around spearheading the expansion of Edelman's technology business and nurturing a high-performing team in India while concurrently providing oversight to equally significant teams located in Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
Prior to this stint, he was vice president at The PRactice, a role he held for just under 12 years. At the helm of the consumer technology vertical within The PRactice, his role encompassed multifaceted responsibilities aimed at propelling growth and profitability, effective talent management, and the strategic counsel for the firm's esteemed clientele, he said on LinkedIn.
This comes shortly after Weber Shandwick promoted Shashikanth Someshwar to the role of chief executive officer of Weber Shandwick India, effective October 1.
Someshwar has held leadership roles across corporate and consumer practices before stepping in as interim managing director of India earlier this year. Working closely with the senior leadership team, he has been instrumental in driving growth, providing strategic counsel to clients, and building teams aligned with the evolving needs of the market
