Kachka: Trump-Orban Meeting Could Help Lift Hungary's Veto On Ukraine-EU Accession Talks
"It's important for us that the United States and President Trump's administration understand why we need Hungary's consent to open accession negotiations. We've devoted quite a lot of attention to this issue, and President Zelensky has also raised it. Will this issue [of lifting Hungary's veto] be raised during the conversation [between Trump and Orban]? There is an expectation that it will," Kachka said.

"I understand that everything ultimately depends on direct dialogue [with Hungary]. This meeting[(between Trump and Orban] could help. The position of EU leaders who are ideologically closer to Orban could also help. Our task is to work on all these fronts. Believe me, we've even discussed this issue with the Japanese government," Kachka said.
Budapest earlier announced that U.S. President Donald Trump would host Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the White House in Washington on November 7.
President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier said he had asked U.S. President Donald Trump to influence Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to ensure he does not block Ukraine's EU accession process.
