Biden finishes round of radiation therapy for prostate cancer
(MENAFN) Former US President Joe Biden has completed a round of radiation therapy as part of his treatment for prostate cancer. The milestone was marked by Biden ringing a silver bell at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, a tradition that celebrates the completion of a treatment phase.
Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden, shared the moment on Instagram, writing, “Rung the Bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!” She also posted a photo of Biden with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, and two grandchildren, praising his courage: “Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment. Grateful.”
Biden, 82, was diagnosed in May with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. He is scheduled to speak in Boston this Sunday, where he will receive a lifetime achievement award at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.
