All Four Aboard Indonesia Helicopter Confirmed Dead
(MENAFN) All four people aboard a helicopter that crashed in Indonesia’s Central Papua province have been confirmed dead, a search and rescue official said Thursday, as authorities recovered the wreckage from a remote canyon.
The helicopter was discovered in a steep ravine within Mimika regency, according to I Wayan Suyatna, who heads the regional search and rescue office. All four victims were retrieved from the crash site and transported to a hospital in Timika, the administrative center of the regency.
The aircraft went down at approximately 1:40 p.m. local time on Wednesday while en route from Ilaga Airport in Puncak regency to Mozes Kilangin Airport in Mimika.
