Amman, Set 3 (Petra) - Loay Munir Sahweil, the chairman of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) board of directors, disclosed that 16 Saudi industrial ventures, totaling JD133 million in investment volume, currently operate in Jordanian industrial cities, creating 790 job opportunities.
During the first session of the Jordanian-Saudi Business Forum, which began in Amman on Wednesday and was organized by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce with the participation of businessmen and investors from both countries, Sahweil said that the JIEC has dedicated its efforts over forty years to creating an optimal environment and attractive infrastructure that represents the primary incubator for attracting industrial investments. The JIEC has designed industrial cities to be more than just production sites but rather integrated systems that support investors from the moment they establish their investment until it reaches global markets.
Sahweil added, "Our strategy and vision at the Industrial Cities Company stem from Jordan's economic modernization vision, fully aligned with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Both visions seek to advance the industrial sector in our two brotherly countries."
He explained that the company has developed qualified industrial cities that have become a strategic investment platform, boasting all the elements of success, including advanced infrastructure designed to the highest international standards, a unique logistical location central to the region, and attractive investment incentives.
Sahweil concluded by saying that Jordan's industrial cities, which number nine across the Kingdom's various governorates, currently house 975 industrial companies with an investment volume exceeding JD3.5 billion, providing approximately 62,000 job opportunities.
Sahweil invited Saudi businessmen and investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities offered by Jordan in general and Jordanian industrial cities in particular.
During the working session, a presentation was given on industrial cities in Jordan to businessmen and industrial investors. The presentation included a presentation of the most important investment opportunities in the company and the advantages and incentives of investment, especially in the Hussein and Tafilah industrial cities, which include exceptional investment incentives on electricity and energy prices, inclusion in production branch programs, and discounts on export costs through the port of Aqaba.
