Gaza Bleeds: Israeli Airstrikes Kill Over 63,500 Civilians

(MENAFN) At least 63,557 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry reported Monday, revealing that nine more people—including three children—have died from starvation in the besieged enclave.

According to the ministry’s statement, 98 bodies were brought to hospitals over the past 24 hours, while 404 new injuries were recorded, pushing the total number of wounded to 160,660 amid the relentless Israeli assault.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” the ministry added.

In the same period, 46 Palestinians were killed and over 239 wounded by Israeli army fire while attempting to access humanitarian aid. This raises the total deaths among aid seekers to 2,294, with more than 16,839 injured since May 27.

The Health Ministry also reported nine deaths linked to malnutrition and starvation, including three children, in the past day. Since October 2023, famine-related deaths have reached 348, including 127 children.

Since March 2, Israeli authorities have fully sealed all Gaza border crossings, condemning the enclave’s 2.4 million residents to famine conditions.

A UN-backed food security assessment has already confirmed famine in northern Gaza and warned it is expected to expand further south by the end of September.

The Israeli military resumed its offensive on Gaza on March 18, killing 11,426 people and injuring 48,619, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal established in January.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its war on the Gaza Strip.
