British PM Appoints Darren Jones As PM's Chief Secretary


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) LONDON, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday appointed MP Darren Jones as the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister and No10 Downing Street.
This came in a press release by the Prime Minister's Office, saying that the Chief Secretary is a newly created role which will work collaboratively across UK Government to drive forward progress in key political areas, reporting directly to the Prime Minister.
The release said that the ministerial role, based within No10 Downing Street, will directly oversee work across Government to support the delivery of the Prime Minister's priorities and the Government's plan for change.
It added that the prime minister has appointed Baroness Minouche Shafik as his chief economic advisor as she will support the government to go further and faster in driving economic growth and raising living standards for all. (end)
