Pakistan PM Urges An End To Israeli Violence In Gaza - SCO Council
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated his country's call for an immediate cessation of Israeli occupation's violence and bloodshed in Gaza.
"The suffering and starvation unfolding in Gaza is a festering wound on our collective conscience. We reiterate our call for an immediate end to gruesome violence and heart-wrenching bloodshed in Gaza," Sharif told the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council for heads of state, held from August 31 to September 1 in Tianjin, China.
He added that Pakistan has consistently supported the two-state solution endorsed by the United Nations, which calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In another context, Sharif said Islamabad has always believed in the power of pluralism, dialogue, and diplomacy, explaining that his country seeks normal and stable relations with all its neighbors. He added that Pakistan will continue its efforts with all SCO members to promote peace, progress, and prosperity throughout the region.
He also called for a comprehensive and organized dialogue to discuss all outstanding disputes to ensure lasting peace in South Asia, referring to the significant efforts Pakistan has made in the war on terrorism. (QNA)
