Health Minister Launches Pediatric ICU Phase Three At Amiri Hospital

KUWAIT, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, inaugurated on Monday the third operational phase of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit alongside the new central kitchen at Al-Amiri Hospital, reflecting the ministry's commitment to specialized healthcare services and advanced operational infrastructure.
During his speech, the minister emphasized that this stage of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is part of the ministry's strategy to strengthen specialized healthcare, improve response efficiency for critical pediatric cases, and expand capacity to meet increasing demands.
He explained that the initiative reflects the ministry's commitment to providing uninterrupted advanced pediatric care around the clock, reducing complication rates through rapid interventions, while maintaining an environment that upholds the highest standards of specialized healthcare consistently.
The minister highlighted that doubling production capacity by more than twofold, through the new central kitchen, demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering high quality nutritional and health services that enhance efficiency, patient satisfaction, and overall healthcare quality.
Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs Ibrahim Al-Naham affirmed the two projects mark a milestone for the engineering sector, noting the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit's gradual development from four beds initially to fifteen fully equipped beds presently.
He added the central kitchen witnessed its most extensive renewal since 1992, being supplied with advanced global equipment and technologies, significantly increasing efficiency while raising production capacity by 114 percent to better serve hospital needs. (end)
