Aqaba, Sep. 1 (Petra) -- Founder and CEO at Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH) Eyad Abu Khorma, announced a strategic partnership with the Syrian Telecom, marking a significant step toward positioning Aqaba as a neutral regional hub for digital infrastructure.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Abu Khorma explained that the MoU goes beyond being a purely technical agreement, serving instead as a framework that opens a new pathway for data transfer and capacity exchange between Jordan and Syria, while creating new routes for regional interconnection.
He noted that the agreement enables Syrian Telecom to directly benefit from ADH's integrated ecosystem, which includes data centers, landing stations, the AqabaIX internet exchange platform, as well as cloud and cybersecurity platforms.
Abu Khorma emphasized that the true value of this cooperation lies in helping Syrian Telecom establish a reliable and scalable infrastructure that can efficiently serve institutions and markets, thereby supporting the development of a comprehensive digital economy in Syria.
He further highlighted that the agreement demonstrates how ADH's neutral solutions have become the preferred choice for regional partners, proving its readiness to meet both local and neighboring markets' needs, while providing new routes that foster expansion and growth, leveraging Jordan's strategic location.
Recently, Aqaba Digital Hub and Syrian Telecom signed the MoU, which covers the development of an integrated fiber network connecting Damascus with the Jordanian border, and linking Syrian Telecom directly to ADH's neutral platforms.
Aqaba Digital Hub is Jordan's digital gateway to the world, hosting the Kingdom's first and largest neutral data center with a capacity of 12 MW and Tier 3 global certification. It also operates a submarine cable landing station that receives multiple international cables.
Through its telecommunications arm "NaiTel," ADH provides direct connectivity to international gateways, regional routes, and a fiber-optic network that interlinks main cities and border crossings.
ADH also offers a wide range of digital solutions, including Jordan's first public cloud, secure access solutions, a security operations center, the AqabaIX internet exchange point, as well as secure and reliable hosting services supporting cloud applications, artificial intelligence, and digital content.
