India Confirms Firm Stance Against Terrorism
(MENAFN) India has reiterated its uncompromising approach toward terrorism and signaled its readiness to strike terror networks regardless of their location, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh declared on Thursday.
While attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) defense ministers' conference in Qingdao, China, Singh urged all member nations of the bloc to “unequivocally” denounce terrorism.
He emphasized that “India’s zero tolerance for terrorism is manifest today through its actions,” stressing that this includes the nation’s right to act in self-defense against terrorist threats.
Commenting on India's operations conducted on May 7 against suspected militant sites in Pakistani-administered territory, Singh noted: “We have shown that epicenters of terrorism are no longer safe and we will not hesitate to target them.”
His remarks underlined India's resolve to pursue hostile actors across borders if necessary.
Singh also highlighted the importance of unity among SCO nations in facing shared threats “related to peace, security, and [a] trust deficit.”
He advocated for a system of “reformed multilateralism” as a means to build stronger cooperation and avoid conflict.
“No country, however large and powerful, can manage alone,” he stated, pointing to the value of joint dialogue and collaboration.
