Screenings Of Ukrainian Documentary People Of Steel Taking Place In UK

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) A series of screenings of the Ukrainian documentary People of Steel is taking place across the United Kingdom with the support of the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of Prisoners of War.

According to Ukrinform, the Coordination Headquarters reported this on Facebook.

The documentary tells the story of Russia's aggression against Ukraine since 2014 and the defenders of Mariupol, who held their ground at the Azovstal steel plant until the very end. The film features authentic footage from Azovstal and Mariupol, recorded by eyewitnesses and participants. Additionally, it includes exclusive scenes from the aftermath of Russia's attack on the Olenivka prison, filmed by Reuters journalists.

The film's director, Serhii Fomenko, told audiences that People of Steel is a story of heroism and self-sacrifice, reflecting the ancient Cossack spirit of Ukrainians.

"Many of these heroic people are still held in Russian captivity. Ukraine is doing everything possible to bring them home. We remind the world that this story is not over, and Ukrainian prisoners of war need help," Fomenko emphasized.

The documentary has already been screened in Cambridge, Oxford, London, and Edinburgh. Upcoming screenings will take place in Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, the UK Parliament, and at a concert in Trafalgar Square in London.

The advocacy tour in the UK is also supported by the DOM Master Klass NGO, the Watch Ukrainian Association, and the Culture Against War project.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a Ukrainian documentary titled Second Wind, about five Ukrainian soldiers with prosthetic limbs climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, is set for release in autumn 2025.
