Israeli Defense Minister states Israel effectively declared war on Palestinian refugee camps in West Bank

(MENAFN) Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated on Wednesday during a raid on the Jenin refugee camp that Israel had effectively declared war on Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank. Katz emphasized that the Jenin camp would not return to its previous state following the conclusion of the military operation and that Israeli forces would maintain their presence there after the operation ends.

Katz further remarked during discussions with senior officers in the IDF’s Central Command that the ongoing military operation, dubbed "Iron Fence," would be expanded to include other Palestinian refugee camps.

Israel's offensive against Jenin and its refugee camp entered its ninth consecutive day, resulting in 16 martyrs, numerous injuries, arrests, and the forced eviction of families. More than 100 homes were destroyed and set on fire, and the attack continued with systematic destruction of infrastructure. Ambulances and civil defense teams have been blocked from entering the camp.
